A few things to know.

Clear answers for getting started and keeping the work going.

What can I use Dee for?

Use Dee for notes, research, project drafts, decisions, or any document you want to keep developing. Write on your own, invite collaborators, and keep the conversation beside the content. A connected agent can continue working with the same saved document.

How do I sign in?

Sign in with Google. Your first sign-in creates a Dee account. After signing in, you can create a personal document or open documents you already have permission to access.

Are my documents private?

A personal document starts with access for you alone. You can add collaborators or enable link joining. Documents in a Space use that Space's membership permissions, and a document can also have direct collaborators. Mentioning someone or sending them an ordinary document link does not grant access.

Can several people edit at once?

People can edit shared documents, but Dee does not currently provide live simultaneous editing. Saves check the version you started from. If another person has already saved a newer version, Dee reports a conflict and keeps your input available while you review and combine the changes.

What happens to my drafts and saved versions?

Save records the title and content together as a version. Local drafts help recover unfinished input in the same browser and do not sync across devices. Exact version links and quotes can open earlier saved content for reading, subject to current access. A separate history browser, version comparison, and version rollback are not currently available. Administrators can restore documents from Trash.

Does Dee include an AI agent?

Dee connects to an external agent; it does not currently run a built-in AI agent. The Install page guides you through installing the connector for supported local agents, approving browser access, and configuring the Dee skill and optional MCP tools. Once connected, your agent can read, create, and update saved documents and return their real Dee links.

What can my connected agent access, and can I disconnect it?

You approve the connection in your browser. It uses a separate credential under your Dee account and follows your current document permissions; it cannot grant itself additional access. Use dee agent status to check the connection and dee agent logout to revoke it. Revoking the connection keeps your browser session signed in.
